D & E

Is parking available?

Parking at the venue is very limited and must be arranged with us in advance. We recommend taking taxis between Hawick and the venue.

Will I need to travel between different venues?

All events take place within the Branxholm Park grounds, so no transport between venues is needed.

Is smoking or vaping permitted?

In line with venue policy, smoking and vaping are only permitted in the designated outdoor area at the rear of the main house. Please ask a member of staff if you need directions.

When should I arrive by?

Please arrive by 13:00 for the drinks reception, ahead of the ceremony beginning at 14:00 sharp.

When should I depart by?

Taxis should be arranged to arrive by 00:30 at the latest, to ensure all guests depart by 01:00 when the venue closes.

What should I wear?

As per the attire guidance within your invitation, we ask that you avoid white, cream and ivory, as well as any dark colours. The dress code is formal, with a recommendation of lighter suits for gents and pastel tones for ladies. Refer to the colour palette provided for inspiration.

Will we be indoors or outdoors?

Whilst the ceremony and celebrations will be held indoors, the venue does feature various outdoor social spaces which we plan to enjoy throughout the day. Given that it's October in Scotland, please prepare for cold and potentially wet weather.

Can I take photographs during the ceremony?

We're opting for an 'unplugged' ceremony so that everyone can be fully present for our vows. This means no devices are to be used - our photographer will capture all the special moments to share with you later. However, feel free to take photos during the reception and party!

Can I share photos and videos to social media?

We know you'll be excited to share the celebrations you capture, but please refrain from uploading anything until we've had the chance to do so first.

How should I address the married couple after the ceremony?

We've chosen not to follow the tradition of the bride taking the groom's last name. Instead, we're both holding onto our own surnames as we start this new chapter together.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, we'll be stocking and providing a full open bar for the day! Since we're putting this together ourselves, do let us know if you have a favourite tipple and we'll do our best to make sure there's a bottle behind the bar for you.

Can I bring my own drinks?

Guests are prohibited from bringing their own alcohol onto the premises.

What if I have dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances?

Please let us know about these when you RSVP, as we want to ensure everyone can enjoy their meal safely and comfortably.

When do I need to RSVP by?

Please respond by February 1st, 2026 to give us time to finalise catering numbers and seating arrangements. Note that each guest must complete their own individual RSVP.

How do I make changes after I RSVP?

Life happens! If your plans change after you've already responded, just let us know as soon as possible and we'll update our records.

Can I bring a plus-one?

We're keeping our wedding intimate with close friends and family only. Any plus-ones have been specified on individual invitations.

Are children invited?

We've decided to have an adults-only celebration so that all guests can relax and enjoy the day. We appreciate your understanding!

Do you have a gift registry?

You're already giving us the gift of your presence on our big day. However if you do insist, we'd really appreciate a contribution to our honeymoon fund.

Can I bring a gift to the wedding?

We're lucky to already have everything we need for our home together. Rather than physical gifts, we'd love your help in making our honeymoon extra special!
